June
will mark the end of our year together listening in on God’s
work in the life of David. Personally,
I’ve had a ball with this
sermon series. David had
many contact points with our own
lives, and it was a pleasure to read through the details of his life. I’d
like to thank the folks who gave me feedback through this year on
the sermons, from those who read Samuel’s books alongside the
series to those who invited the sermons to sink into their lives.
My
hope through this year with David is that we find the
foundation of God’s faithfulness underneath us, even as we
confess our own frailty as human beings. If
you just can’t get enough of David’s life, books abound out
there. One which guided me in this year was Eugene
Peterson’s Leap Over a Wall.

generous and gracious ways to serve the community
at large. This month, our

With
Ethel Cipollini in the lead, you ladies (and helpful husbands!) know
your stuff … Thanks! To
the Presbyterian Women who organized the Mother-Child Banquet …
Thanks! To the many men who
stepped up at the Banquet to serve, carry children’s plates, and wash
up … Thanks! To Marti
Eggers and Lisa Chorle who provided Banquet entertainment with the
Peanuts gang … Thanks! To
the youth of our church who lead worship May 22, especially the brave

Bloodmobile on May 3 successfully reached
our goal of 75 units, with excellent volunteer

you for
supporting this valuable gift of life! BARBARA

a stole and portable communion kit.
Barbara

Theological Seminary, and will spend the summer as a Hospital Chaplain
in York before entering her final year at Lancaster.
We look forward to seeing Barbara ministering in the Huntingdon
Presbytery, and give thanks for her ministry among us! INCOME AND

They have grown up, and they have accomplished a great deal.
Let us gather and celebrate God’s work in their lives! POLO

ALL COLLECTORS! Our

Talk with Gertie Clyde about the possibility of sharing your work
during Heritage Days! VACATION Pastor
Tracie and her family will be taking some vacation time to visit one of
Marty’s college friends and family in Brownsville, Texas, June 16-22.
During her
absence, Jeff Eyet can be contacted for Pastoral needs.
Bill Moore will be leading the congregation in worship.
Please pray for renewal and travel mercies on the Bullis family
while they are away. SUMMER SUNDAY
SCHOOL BREAK During
the months of July and August, our Sunday School classes will
not meet, nor will Children’s Church be held in the Nursery during
the Worship Service. Families
are welcome to sit together, or
care for little ones in the Nursery or Parlor, where the service
can be heard through a speaker. Many
thanks go out to
Sunday School teachers and Children’s Church workers who have
led classes for the last ten months.
We’ll be back in Sunday
School with the first Sunday in September! KRISLUND
CAMPERS ALERT! If
you haven’t signed up for Camp yet, you
need to contact Pastor Tracie and get
your forms in! The FINAL
sign-up for our
church-sponsored camp trips is Sunday, June 12 at the Deacon Church
Lunch! Grab a Krislund Camp
brochure from the narthex and pick your camp dates today! MARK
YOUR CALENDAR NOW! Just
a reminder to all helpers and kids – Vacation Bible School dates will
be the week of August 8-11 for kids from 3 years old to those who have
completed 1st grade. Please
note the date in your home schedules! LOOKING AHEAD TO
THE CHURCH DIRECTORY Our
Church is going to do Pictorial Directory to help
us recognize and know each other a little better.
The Deacons will be working over the summer
on putting together pages and setting up
appointments for pictures. We
need everyone to
have their picture taken! Each
family or individual will
receive a free 8” by 10” photo, and there is no obligation
to buy any other pictures. Please
help this project succeed by doing two things: 1.
Search through your pictures of the last year and offer
church-related photos for the Directory Activity pages.
2. MARK the picture
dates on your home calendar: August 18-20
(Thursday evening through Saturday) PER
CAPITA UPDATE In
January, the church sent out the offering envelopes for active
members to contribute to the per capita fee the church
pays. The per capita fee is
a designated amount that helps
our Presbytery, Synod, and National church organizations have the
necessary funds for joint projects and needs.
This year, the amount
is $22.68 per member. So
far, you have contributed $2,148 of
the total $4506.84 needed. That
is almost half of our need! If
you have not yet paid your per capita contribution, please do
so – assessing $22.68 for each active church member in your
household (so a family of 3, where each has joined or been
confirmed, would offer $68.04). JUNE
